The Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT) is a Washington, DC based non-profit advocacy group that works to promote liberal values and constitutional liberties in the Digital Age.

CDT's stated aim is to develop practical legal, technological, and political mechanisms to enhance or ensure free expression and privacy in global communications technologies, including wireless and the Internet.

In 1994, Jerry Berman parted ways with the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and formed the Center for Democracy and Technology.
